More Details

Oklahomans for the Arts announces the 3rd Annual Arts Day at the Oklahoma Capitol, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 7. This is an opportunity for arts supporters from across the state to join together in the capitol and deliver a unified message to our Oklahoma legislators: Public funding for the arts is vital to Oklahoma communities.

All Oklahoma organizations and schools that receive public funding for the arts from the Oklahoma Arts Council are invited to host information booths. Creativity is encouraged! Bring your ballerinas, banjos and boleros; your poetry and your paint brushes. We want you to communicate YOUR message about YOUR arts organization to YOUR elected officials.

A LIMITED NUMBER OF TABLES ARE AVAILABLE. Last year, we ran out of space, so this year we must limit space to recipients of Oklahoma Arts Council grants.

Individual arts advocates are also encouraged to visit the offices of their elected representatives and senators throughout the day. You do not need to sponsor a table to show up and walk the marble halls and talk to your legislators. If you can’t visit them in person, arts organizations are encouraged to call or email their legislators. Click here to find your legislator.

Tips and talking points will be made available prior to the event.

Join Oklahomans for the Arts and help increase support for arts, culture and arts education in Oklahoma. Register today to participate in Arts Day at the Capitol 2014!
